What is not yours…

In the stone days, my parents would launch a campaign of terror by reading frightening passages from the old testament and praying for illnesses such as leprosy to afflict the thief who would have stolen vegetables in our ‘shamba’ or farm’ until a confession is extracted and goods returned.
During the unrest in my country , after the disputed election results. A number of reactions were put into action. One of them was ‘looting’. Shops were cleaned!! Let me call it stealing since the owners went at a lose and were not aware if this would happen. It brought laughter when you see a person joyously running away with a T.V on his back, think about a fridge too, furniture, name them.
To my surprise in one of our beautiful cities called Mombasa, best known for its alarming unnatural forces. The same people, who stole the goods, were seen returning the goods back to the supermarket with regrets. Any Muslim should clear this out for me. It is believed that this prayer named ‘Albadir’ was read by owners to make their goods be returned. It is sad that before one returns the goods, enough painful scenes will have occurred to make one give up and return what is not theirs. E.g. no peeing and Sleepless nights!!
After the incidence, a friend of mine shared “Jacky, if only we could be able to read ‘Albadir’ to some of our corrupt politicians, we would have peace”

Jacky I today less than 6 months after the post election violence that saw the country shake in fear these guys called the politicians have forgotten and are back to their dirty tricks selling public property and heaven knows what else is done in the dark..I am so ashamed of MY leaders because I voted for them. I hope the Youth are as disgusted as I am or better yet as I was on the night of their swearing in and they will make better choices in the next poll otherwise if we keep beleiving the lie that we are tomorrows leaders, we will not have any inheritance for our kids and their generations..I feel you Jacky in more than one way.

Hello Jacky, i absolutely agree with you on Albadir thing. No country in the world is void of corruption but in Africa it is a crisis. We have lost passion for humanity and replaced it with self ego that is threatening to swallow our continent.
To stem corruption, we must hold our leaders feet to the fire and make them feel the pain they normally subject us to.
The youth must never again sign leadership blank cheques. All their cheques must have a quantifiable reward. In law they talk of Quantum-Meruit (as much as earned). This should be our driving force to making democracy a reality.
