Valentine's Day....My foot!!

"If you claim to show love everyday why would you need a day assigned 'just' for love?" This was my answer after a friend of mine tried to convince me to attend a Valentine's party for couples. In no time, I had to look for like minded friends. You've got to admit that votes count. Through coffee dates, I met 50 youth age-16 to 29, to support my reasoning. This number includes my brother who is 16 years old.
According to 39 respondents, Valentines got to do with 'money'. You have to spend!! Most men would make frantic attempts to mark the day. Buying perfumes, pattered handkerchiefs, chocolates, flowers and in 'fashion cards'. So, to get in the programme, run for the offers, they are a bit cheaper and they come packaged!
Valentine's is about having good sex! (Quality & without a condom). This is where gift purchase has to trigger the aftermath, so one goes for lingerie's, peaches and cream and offer to make dinner. Few men admitted getting ready to sing praises to their girlfriends, even if they deserve none. The trick here was to raid a library for poetry books, some would resort to the inspirational old testament, listen to R&B music just to find words that would make the girl's/boy's mind spin. Love indeed is a disease which one chooses to cure by doing all foolish things. Love life and it is better to play 'you'. Love has to be shared amongst us each day. A day to express love makes the next day dull with full of regrets most times.
"Valentine should be made seasonal, to avoid '24 hour expensive love'. Try to 'post evaluate' your bank account on 15th February to know what I mean!" Jerry Aurah shares.
I did my part for this day. For the case of my friends in case they change their minds, I gave them trendy condoms to include in their valentine gift hampers. May your Valentine's Day be filled with expenses as you turn to safer sex, free of charge, with no regrets!!
Peace.
Joyful,
Jacky
