My Brother...

My brother is sick again. I’m scared this time. He’s collapsing more often than before and he’s literally wasting away in front of me. But to talk to him, you wouldn’t know. He sounds just the way he’s always sounded; always joking with that somewhat bizarre sense of humour of his. But he looks different. My boyfriend joked that I’m bigger than my older brother. It would be funny if it just wasn’t so true. I lost my best friend to HIV when I was 19, we were the same age. I look at him and I remember her, it’s not fair, why don’t we have a cure, why doesn’t anyone care enough to find the cure. Is money really more important than people’s lives? Someone said the other day that if Prince Charles had HIV, a cure would miraculously appear.

what we want in life is not always what we get. what we need to do is to learn how to cope with what we have esspecially when we cant do any thing about it. Be strong and be happy. it helps

Sometimes in life there are so many questions but, dont dwell on your brothers condition. Be strong and continue to love him as if he were well!(he needs you)

Its difficult to understand the pain that the infected go through, yet I feel though affected go through worse off pain as they watch their loved ones waste away with no hope at all. I have lost many loved ones and one never gets used to the pain that that loss brings with. Thandiwe do write me, I believe there is a lot we can learn from one another. Editor allow Thandiwe my email address thank you. Hang in there girl, hope is how you carry on each day. I share your pain.
