Lesbians and HIV
You always hear about gay men having HIV, but what about gay women? How do gay women catch HIV?

It's a fact that gay men are an 'at risk group' when it comes to HIV transmission - this is because anal sex is more likely to be practiced by gay men - something which is a high risk act, should condoms not be used. This isn't to say though that gay women are immune from HIV. The risk of transmission through lesbian sex is low - but still possible. the following sexual activities carry some risk:
- Oral sex - particualry if there are cuts or sores present on the mouth or vagina.
- Use of sex toys. The rule here is to keep them clean and never share them.
Fingering and kissing are considered to be very low risk.
Remember - regardless of your sexuality - you can still contract non-sexually transmitted HIV from used needles/syringes, blood and other boldily fluids.
