The Girl...
It was day as any other. After classes I went to a café bar to have a drink and to see my girlfriend. On my way home I met a friend, who I hadn’t seen in a while. We started talking about the usual things, you know; football, cars, studies and of course women.
He confessed to me he was seeing a girl who was older than him, and that he heard she’d been seeing other people behind his back. Even though he had never previously talked about or thought of using condom, this time he seemed worried. He had heard rumors she had Hepatitis B, and that it was due to her occasional heroin use.
My Advice...
We talked a lot and I advised him to go to our medical center for a check up. He refused to go, saying that he felt just fine. He said he was concerned, but that it was probably nothing to worry about.
The girl left as she came, she fled to another country.
He never did get tested - he says he is frightened to find out, if he is positive.
I Decided to get tested...
I did my best. And then I thought how many of my friends and peers that I see everyday who are afraid to take a test. The worrying thing is - their behaviour is not safe.
It made me go finally to test my self. It was scary, but I know my status now. I am negative. And I intend to stay so.
