Peer pressure
Peer pressure is when others make you feel that you should be doing anything you don’t want to, from having sex to wearing legwarmers, just because they are. Remember you should only do anything in life, including sexually, when it’s what you want to do.

Penis
The penis is the male sex organ, and is also used to urinate through. It is referred to by many different names, and becomes erect when stimulated.

Perineum
The perineum is the surface area of the body which stretches between the anus and vulva in women, and the anus and scrotum in men.

The Pill
‘The Pill’ is a general name given to several different types of combined contraceptive pill, all of which contain the hormones oestrogen and progestogen. Taken correctly the Pill can be a very effective contraceptive for most people, but should always be used with a condom to prevent the spread of STIs.

Pre-cum
Also known as ‘pre-ejaculate’ or ‘Cowper’s fluid’, pre-cum is a clear liquid that often comes out of a man’s penis when he’s aroused, but before he actually ejaculates, or ‘cums’. As with semen, STIs (including HIV) can be transmitted through pre-cum.

Pregnancy
Pregnancy occurs when unprotected sexual activity leads to conception. Most women are first alerted to the possibility that they might be pregnant when they miss their regular period, and this is usually confirmed by a pregnancy test.

Prostitute
A prostitute – also referred to as sex worker - is someone who performs sexual acts in return for payment.
