IDUs
IDU stands for Intravenous Drug User, in other words, someone who injects drugs.
IUDs
Sometimes known as ‘the coil’, IUDs are small plastic and copper contraceptive devices that are inserted into the womb by a doctor or nurse. They can work for between three and ten years, but while IUDs are a very effective form of birth control they should always be used with a condom to prevent the spread of STIs (including HIV).
