Abuse

Anything that is done to you (or that you are made to do) that harms you, makes you uncomfortable, or is against your will is abuse. If you feel you are being abused, talk to someone you trust, such as parents, friends, teachers, or helplines (you can usually do this anonymously if you prefer). You can be abused physically or emotionally.

Acid

Acid is a powerful and illegal hallucinogenic drug that alters your mind and perception of the outside world.

AIDS

AIDS stands for Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome and is a direct result of HIV infection.

Alcohol

Alcohol is found in many drinks, including beer, wine and spirits. If you drink too much it will make you feel drunk. People often experience recklessness, nausea, poor coordination and slurred speech when drunk.

Amphetamines

Amphetamines are illegal drugs that will make you feel more awake, energetic and chatty – this is often followed by a down period where the user may feel depressed and generally unwell.

Anal Sex

Involves penetration of the anus with a penis or other object, such as a dildo. The feeling can be very intense, especially for a man, as this is where the G-spot is located. Condoms should always be used as the chances of contracting or passing on HIV and other STIs are especially high when having anal sex.

Antiretroviral Drugs

Medication taken by people who are HIV positive which stops the virus from spreading so quickly.
