ABOUT ISOLATED:
Stigma and discrimination is fuelling the global AIDS epidemic. Stigma can be described as the process of devaluing a person either living with, or associated with HIV and AIDS. Discrimination follows stigma and is the unfair and unjust treatment of an individual based on his/her real or perceived HIV status. Stigma and discrimination can be inflicted by a wider community as well as from within. Self-stigma is just as harmful as stigma from within a community. This film (with a surprising twist) shows the affect of self-stigma and how the virus can affect your social life (if you let it).
